RIIM-ARIHANT created ripples once again for the fourth consecutive year when it participated in the International Business Plan Championship organized at Indian Institute of Management - Kozhikode, Echoes2019 where more than 70 B Schools across India and surrounding countries participated with their creative Business plan ideas.
In 2019, RIIM created a benchmark with all three teams made to final round. Team ‘Jivan’ secured ‘Second Rank’ in the International B Plan Competition held on 3rd Feb 2019 and received a Cash Prize at the prestigious management institute ‘IIM KOZHIKODE’. Team ‘Rang’ received Special Mentorship (First time in history of the event) for their business idea from Make-Intern as a consolation prize and Team ‘Aaryabot’ stood in Top 10.
It was really a moment of pride for RIIM and we would like to share our heartiest congratulations with the ‘Team Jiyan’ and other two teams for their hard work, dedication and focus put for securing 2nd Rank in the competition and leaving no stone unturned to impress the Judges with their Knowledge, Business acumen and Presentation skills.
In association with IIM Indore, RIIM has designed a Management Development Program for MBA students.
MDP at IIM Indore is a 15-days residential programme at IIM Indore campus, where students stay at the IIM Campus and get trained by IIM-Indore faculties specialized in HR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, SCM, IB, Foreign Exchange Management and other specialization.
A team of twenty (20) IIM Indore Faculty has delivered lectures and conducted workshops for the students on various topics broadly categorized in General Management, Marketing Management, HR Management & Financial Management. IIM Indore followed Case Study Teaching Pedagogy to enhance analytical skills of students.
In 2018-19, a batch of total 160 students of RIIM have visited to IIM Indore. In 2019-20, a batch of 100 students has already completed the MDP Programme.
Another batch will be visiting to IIM Indore post-COVID.
As said by Prof. Ranjeet Nambodiri, Dean, Academics, IIM Indore, it is for the first time that any MBA institute visited to IIM Indore for the MDP. He praised the students’ sincerity, adaptability and commitment towards the MDP and anticipated the longer association with RIIM in future.
The benchmark and momentum were already set by RIIM students in 2019, as they not only performed well but also secured 2nd position at International Business Plan organized at IIM Kozhikode.
The students from 2019-20 batch were all excited and enthusiastic to repeat the history. This year, the location and format of the event was changed. The event was organized at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and about 50 Teams across the country locked horns to win the prestigious competition.
RIIM – Arihant Group proudly participated in the event with six teams in the year 2020. Team ‘EarthLink’ presented a business plan based on SLRM, Solid & Liquid Resource Management to recruit domestic animals for business. Team ‘I-Foster’ presented the concept of online virtual collaboration certifications for resolving business queries of start-ups. Team ‘Uurja’ came up with a idea of Bio-electricity for societies. Team ‘Bricklane’ presented a plan of Brick created with the Baggase (Sugar-cane) ash. Whereas, Team ‘Sinuous’ presented a concept of Solar Car Exhauster. & finally, Team ‘Hatched’ presented a b-plan on Calcium carbonate powder extracted from wasted eggshells.
Team ‘Hatched’ secured ‘3rd Rank in the International B Plan Competition held on 31st Jan 2020 and received a Cash Prize worth ten thousand rupees at prestigious management institute ‘IIM Banglore’.
RIIM also appreciates the efforts of all six teams for the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment put in for securing 3rd position by them. The results were achieved because of their knowledge, business acumen, presentation skills and faculties’ guidance.
Most Prominent B-School on RoI in India:
On 2nd February 2020, RIIM – Pune has got awarded with “Most Prominent B-School on ROI in India” at Global Leadership Award powered by AdFocus Media. The award fuction was organized at Hotel Radisson, Gurugram, where RIIM – Pune was recognized for making the significant contribution in the field of Management Education. RIIM – Pune was felicitated by the hands of Ms. Mandira Bedi.

The first phase of UNEP’s Tide Turner Plastic Challenge in India sees the participation of 127,009 youth; 28 States and 8 UT’s; 3000 Institutions and organisations; 1000 facilitators and 20 Partners including RIIM – Pune students.
The virtual National Youth Summit held to honour the achievements of 1700 top achievers, who completed levels of Challenge saw the participation more than 100 students in a virtual show of strength in the fight against single-use plastic. RIIM – Pune is proud to be a part of such a great initiative by United Nations.
During the lockdown time, RIIM has started Leadership Series named as "Savant Speak". Savant stands for getting distinguished speakers for proving enlightenment of students. Under this initiative, RIIM has got senior leaders from Corporates, Politics, and Civic Administration background to address our senior students online.
More than 80 speakers from diversified fields addressed the students on various management topics. Students got the opportunity to get enlightened from the thoughts of various corporate leaders and also interacted with government officials to understand the role of government and individuals to tackle the pandemic situation. They also got addressed by nationally & internationally recognised Motivational Speakers and International Faculty from USA & Canada.
Institut Mines-Télécom Business School or IMT – BS founded in 1979, is a French state-funded Management School, a member of Institut Mines-Telecom, the number one group of engineering and management graduate schools in France.
It is also a member of the Management School Chapter of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles, of EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and accredited by the Association of MBAs for its Masters in Management Program.
It was a perfect blend of Classroom study, Industrial visits and Excursion. Classroom study includes lectures, case studies and workshops on various management topics like European History and European Culture, European Business Law, Design Thinking, Big Data Management, Negotiation and Selling Skills, and Global Supply Chain Management etc.
Students visited to Station F and Linagora, Paris as a part of their industrial visits. Students visited to European Commission, Brussels, Belgium and interacted with the European Union Delegates. They also visited to European Parliament. At Geneva, Switzerland, students got an opportunity to visit The United Nations Office and interacted with officials of United Nations’ IT Cell, ITU (International Telecommunication Union) as well as High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Mentoring is the Student Development System under which a Faculty (mentor) is assigned to act as an advisor, counsellor, or guide to a Student. The mentor is responsible for providing support to the student under their charge.
RIIM – Pune thoroughly believes in providing valuable opportunities to the students by facilitating academic, career, and personal contacts. Mentors stimulate curiosity and build confidence in students by presenting new ideas, opportunities and challenges. Mentors encourage growth and achievement by providing an open and supportive environment to the students. In simple words, at RIIM, Mentors guide the mentees in achieving academic, career and personal goals.
The concept of Mentors & Mentees at RIIM depends on C’s i.e. Consult, Counsel, and Cheer up. It helps building a strong bond between the faculty (mentor) and the students (mentees).
X-Culture is a Global Collaboration Course involving theoretical training and two months of practical experience as a member of a Global Virtual Team developing high-quality business plans for multinational companies. X-Culture was initiated in 2010 by Dr. Vasyl Taras.
X-culture Collaboration has an association of 140 universities or institutions from 93 countries of 6 continents. It creates international teams of about 7: usually 7 students, 7 countries. They work as a global virtual team for two months on a business project.
In 2020, total 5000+ International Students have participated from across the world.
RIIM Pune is proudly associated with X-culture since 2018. Total 105 students have participated in this academic year and completed the Global Collaboration Project by preparing the a High Quality reports on Global Business Expansion Strategies for Companies like CaptiVoice - USA, Dart Drones - USA, Foundley – UK, Get Out! Events - Singapore, Good Earth Oils - Australia, ICCA - USA, Matchplat - Italy, UNCG - USA, Nomad - Colombia, OneMoreDay - Italy, Soprano - Brazil, X-culture Kids - USA, and ZenCV – Italy etc.
